02-2017 FIX was our guest from early February till end of March. As big and strong as he is affectionate, it took only a few minutes before we became the best of friends. Was he happy to see his owner Yvo back!!
08-2016 Maggy finally decided to replace Katie and she found HARRY, a beautiful little Jack Russel, who loves to play with big and small.
BUDDY is a cross between a Doberman and a Rottweiler. Scaring? Not at all! We've never met a more gentle dog!
06-2016 TIKI, in Greek "tichi", which means "luck", is a toy dog which everybody would like to have! It took her 5 minutes to settle in and to start playing with our dogs and with our visitors; she listened to her name when called; she slept on my bed, at my feet. Lucky Richard who rescued her!
05-2016 Meri from Finnland enjoyed her holidays in Kolimbari, but was very unhappy to find three abandoned puppies next to the hotel. She fed them; asked and phoned everywhere to try to find a shelter, without success. She called her friends and colleagues at home, urging them to adopt one and she succeeded. One of her friends in Finnland, Mina, found us on Internet and called us, asking us to go and collect the puppies, which we did. Those three rascals are staying with us until early July, when Mina and her husband will come to Crete for a few days, just to pick them up and bring them home. Here they are: Mina at the back belongs to Minna, Kriti, in front (also called kreetan tyttö meaning Cretan girl) to Sirpa and Molly, the darkest goes to Petra's house.
05-2016 Glenn from Belgium found Filos also in Kolimbari, rescued him and adopted him. Not a surprise! He's really a very cute little boy. He'll stay with us for nearly one month and Glenn will come back to Crete end of June to pick him up and bring him home. That's what we call love!
03-2016 Selva is a rescued and adopted girl owned by Elen and Enrike. They trained her and taught her dog dancing and tricks proving that one can teach whatever he likes to any dog. Congratulations!
02-2016 Tody is a 13 year old Jack Russell, who loves dragging Bea on a long walk, watches TV on our lap and sleeps on our bed. A lovely dog!
11-2015 Dario is a Boxer bred in Italy, a huge and powerful dog, a molossos, owned by Stephany (Kato Galatas). Her son George and Cornelia (Chania) have Bruno, a Greek Mountain dog. Both are young, playful and very affectionate.

May - October 2015: We had Moto 5 months during while his Greek master had his military duty. This huge boy, 80cm high, weighting 40kg staid inside with us and our 4 girls and he played with all other dog-visitors, big and small. Never have we heard him or see him growl or being aggressive, not even a blimp! Of all the dogs we ever had, the most friendly of all! A fabulous dog!

09-2015 Blue is a
cross between a Siberian Husky and a Finnish Spitz. The first is a draft dog,
the second a bird hunting dog. Both interact well with people and they are
especially good with children. Since they are very attached to their family,
love to play and always stay on alert to everything out of the ordinary, they bark,
bark, bark… In Finland, these dogs are
prized for their barking abilities, which can range from short, sharp barks to
many barks per minute that sound like a yodel. In Crete it is not favored that
much. Luckily they sleep calmly at night, at least until sunset…

08-2015 Ann & Neil told us ASH was a shy and anxious dog. A huge dog he is, but shy, no way! He played and ran with all other dogs, puppies and adults and turned out to be a very affectionate and friendly dog, obedient too. A marvelous dog. Little Billy girl was his favorite play-toy.
06-2015 Sylvia & Michael (Kalives) rescued this lucky Pompom, which is now 9 years old and enjoying a happy dog's live.
Kreta, Chania and MaMa staid with us for 2 months before joining their Swedish family Jansson who adopted them. Here they are together with their Swedish friends.
03-2015 Gabe staid 45 days with us while his family was on holiday in the States. At first very shy and anxious, he turned out to be a very lovely and playful boy. He even shared the pen of a lovely rescue bitch which was waiting to be adopted abroad. He does ressemble much our Springers! (Hudson family/Chania)
10-11/2014 Bella stayed with us for nearly 2 months. Excessively shy and anxious at the start, she soon understood is was fun playing with her lookalike Lulu and that is was very comfortable to sleep on a soft cushion next to our bed. We wonder if Sally (Paleochora) will recognise her.
09-2014 FIGE, which means "go away" in Greek, comes when called, while other Greek dogs retreat. Strange! Very easy and affectionate dog! (Kris & Brian, Chania)

04-2014 CARA is one of those lucky stray dogs that has found a loving home. She plays and fools around with all other dogs she meets and shows how grateful she is towards everybody, more so towards her attentionate owners, Linda & Richard from Koleni.
You would think they couldn’t match. Quite the contrary! They are both the most
friendly and affectionate girls you can imagine, fooling around and exciting
all others to play together. We think their owners, Kyle and Gregory should
meet too.
03-2014 Stumpy & Ria are inseparable friends, very calm and very affectionate, who like to be in human company, to play and to please. No wonder their owners, Jane& & Peter from Spilia are son fond of them.

02-2014 We had Katie when she was a puppy. Now she is a full-grown lady. We barely cope with our Pluto's energy, but Katie accepts everything: lying on our back, biting her ears and mouth, everything without even a glimpse of discontent. 08-2013 Craig is a sailor who stayed for a short while at the Cretan
military naval base in Loutraki. One day, he found Caroline, a Golden
Retriever, fell in love with her and adopted her. We boarded her for a few
weeks before she could fly home to UK. Caroline is wonderful! She is
obedient, friendly and uttermost affectionate. Craig has won the jackpot! Caroline too! Good
luck to both of you!

08-2013 Sorry to repeat the same thing over and over again, but what can we do? 99.9% of our visitors are fantastic dogs and ALFIE is one of them, even an exceptional top-three dog! 07-2013 Lady SOX is the softest, calmest and friendliest dog we ever had! A little bit shy, a little bit suspicious, a little bit frightened when she hears some unusual noise, but this didn’t prevent her playing and fussing around with the other dogs once she knew them. With us, she behaved as our shadow, following us wherever we were going. A perfect family dog!

06-2013 JANICE est une femelle de teckel kaninchen à poil dur. C’est un teckel ! C’est-à-dire : affectueuse, joueuse, attachante, comique, amusante, vive, loyale, câline, intelligente et j’en passe, mais
aussi jalouse, têtue comme une mule, aboyeuse, capricieuse et pas toujours très
gentille avec ses congénères. Bref : une vraie teigne ! Nous en avons
plusieurs pareils pendant 30 ans et nous n’en sommes jamais venus à bout. C’est

We cracked for CRACKERS, a young female German Kurzhaar pointer, which enjoyed the company of her friends. Do not think she is melancholically waiting for the return of her young mistress and the whole family Mac Allister, she just is the most friendly dog you can imagine, one you'd like to cuddle all day. She stayed many times at our place and became part of the family, of our lap and of our bed at night. She is definitively going back to UK in October 2011. We'll miss her!
SCOOBYDOO is superb! Three days weren’t enough to adopt us completely. He anxiously waited for his family Smith to take him back.
SOLO is a young lady, who looks like a German Shepherd, who has the size and the manners of a Collie and the intelligence and the willingness to please of both breeds. An exceptional dog everybody would like to have, especially me. Congratulations to her owner, Shelley Vaughan, who trained her so well!

Two hours after her departure, he was playing with all the others and fooling around in the garden. He turned out to be a very affectionate dog, willing to please and obey. It took
Helle, who wanted to rescue her, 3 weeks to catch this wandering puppy girl; it
took us 3 days before we could approach her. After 3 weeks she comes back to
heel when called and sits; walks at heel without leash; sleeps in my arms and
doesn’t leave me an inch. She stayed with us for 2 months and soon will leave
to Denmark to learn agility with her new owner, Anja. CENNA is her name. We
will miss her very much!
Wesley is an old
Griffon, which mourned the absence of its masters the first two days and then
suddenly popped alive with the presence of the beautiful young Aliki. What a

Χάρη στην Αλίκη, ένα πολύ καλά περιποιημένο West Highland White Terrier της οικογένειας Γλαρίτη στην Κίσαμο, όλα τα άλλα
σκυλιά, τα δύο δικά μας, μια Ντόμπερμαν, ένα ηλικιωμένο Γκριφόν και ένα αρκετά
δύσκολο άλλο άγνωστης ράτσας ζωντάνεψαν και άρχισαν να τρέχουν και να παίζουν
παντού. Ήταν Η αρχηγός του τσούρμου! Ανεξάντλητη! Αξιολάτρευτη!
Μόγλι ονομάζεται και είναι τριών μηνών. Παιχνιδιάρης και με μάγκικο ύψος, υπακούει
όμως εξαιρετικά καλά και μετά 3 μέρες ζήτησε μπροστά την πόρτα να πάει έξω για
να κάνει τις ανάγκες του. Για να έχει κανείς ένα κουτάβι στο σπίτι είναι πάντα

Lykos (left), an old Greek White Shepherd dog and Lucy, were
both rescued when they already were several years old and became inseparable
friends. Lykos is very calm, Lucy very affectionate, both very obedient and we
hardly noticed they were there, though they spend 3 weeks running free in the

Puppies are always so beautiful and attractive and so are Alice and Bob, adopted by Stella and Michael from Doncaster. They stayed
with us for nearly a month, inside the house, waking us at 6 o’clock in the
morning, playing and fighting together all day long. Their owners will
